In plain language: who we are, how this site uses cookies, and how we handle affiliate links.
Last updated: June 2026
Fable & Feast is an independent editorial website — a small magazine that publishes stories about food, restaurants and the books behind them. It is informational in nature. We are not the restaurant Alchemist, we are not connected to its owners or staff, and we are not the author, publisher or seller of any book mentioned here. Where we feature a restaurant or an author, we write about them as admirers and commentators only.
Some of the links on this site — in particular the “Buy on Amazon” and “Buy on eBay” buttons — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission, at no additional cost to you. This never changes the price you pay and never influences what we choose to recommend. As an Amazon and eBay associate, we may earn from qualifying purchases.
The book cover images on this site are our own original illustrations, created for Fable & Feast. They are not the publishers’ cover artwork and are used only to represent each edition decoratively.
Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, can also remember small pieces of information between visits. Together they help a website work properly and remember your choices.
We keep things simple. The cookies and local storage used on this site fall into the following groups:
We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you.
When you first arrive, a banner asks whether you accept the use of cookies. You can choose Accept or Decline. If you decline, only the strictly necessary record of that choice is stored. You can change your decision at any time by clearing your browser’s storage for this site, which will make the banner appear again.
Our buy buttons lead to external websites — such as Amazon and eBay — that we do not control. Once you leave this site, the privacy and cookie policies of those websites apply, and we encourage you to read them. We are not responsible for the content, pricing or practices of any third-party seller.
This site is a simple, static publication. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not run forms that collect personal details such as your name, address or payment information. Any purchase happens entirely on a third-party seller’s platform, not here.
Depending on where you live, data-protection laws such as the EU/Danish GDPR may give you rights over any personal data a website holds about you — including the right to access, correct or delete it. Because this site is designed to collect as little as possible, there is very little data to manage, and you remain in control of the cookie choices stored in your own browser.
Restaurant names, book titles, author names and brand names mentioned on this site are the property of their respective owners. They are referenced here for identification, commentary and editorial purposes only, and their use does not imply any endorsement or partnership.
We may update this page from time to time to keep it accurate. Any changes will appear here with a new “last updated” date.
